Amazon’s dominance of online shopping starts with product searches: Taylor Soper at GeekWire reports that Amazon is king when it comes to online shopping  and that dominance starts from when people start searching for products online. A new study from BloomReach, reveals that 44% of US consumers pick Amazon when they begin their online shopping process before using a search engine like Google (34%) or a retailer’s own site (21%). Argos takes on Amazon Prime Now with same day service: Chris Dawson at Tamebay reports that Argos has launched a new Fast Track Delivery service. Starting this week, you can now purchase around 20,000 different products from Argos and have them delivered on the same day for just £3.95. Twitter makes ‘buy’ button widely available: Vindu Goel at the New York Times reports that after two years of testing, Twitter is finally making it easy for millions of merchants to sell products through a tweet. The social network announced this week that its “buy now” button will be available to any merchant in the US that uses Demandware, Bigcommerce or Shopify, to run its online shopping operations.  Continue reading…

Ecommerce in France estimated to reach €65bn in 2015: Ecommerce News EU reports that the ecommerce turnover in France has increased by 15% during the first six months of 2015. As a result, online retail sales in France were worth €31 billion. The forecast for the ecommerce turnover in the whole of 2015 has been raised to around €65 billion, from €60 billion.
