Amazon enters ‘gig economy’ with Uber-for-packages service: Amazon.com via The Guardian reports that Amazon is advertising for part-time delivery drivers in Seattle, part of a programme called “Amazon Flex”. The drivers will be paid between $18-25 an hour to deliver packages through the Amazon Prime Now service but will need to provide their own car and phone. Amazon’s one-hour UK delivery service to include pizzas and ice-cream: Sarah Butler at The Guardian reports that Amazon has taken the first step towards offering a full grocery delivery service in the UK. Amazon is currently testing the market by offering between 50 and 60 frozen and chilled food products as part of its Prime Now one-hour delivery service. eBay backs off three month holiday returns: Ina Steiner at eCommerceBytes reports that eBay has sent out a newsletter to encourage sellers to offer a 60-day return policy. Here’s what the newsletter said, “Apply a generous returns policy to your eligible listings. Gift-givers want to make sure their loved ones love their items, so offering a generous 60-day returns policy is a great way to capture buyer attention – and close more sales – during the holiday season.
