Amazon Prime Video launches offline viewing: Andrew Griffin at The Independent reports that Amazon Prime Video has launched offline viewing, a feature which Netflix previously stated was “never going to happen” on their streaming platform. Amazon boss Jeff Bezos defends company’s workplace culture: BBC News reports on Amazon’s response to the recent New York Times report that described the work environment at Amazon as demanding and degrading . The world’s biggest online retailer is firing back against reports of an abusive corporate culture with Amazon owner and CEO Jeff Bezos stating in a staff memo, that the “article doesn’t describe the Amazon I know”. Any Amazon Prime customer can now buy Dash buttons: JP Mangalindan at Mashable reports that Amazon Prime customers who purchase Dash buttons for $5 each, will be credited with the cost of their first button. Amazon is also expanding the number of available button types from 18 to 29, with an additional 11 brands include Ziploc, Dixie tableware, Hefty trash bags, Finish dishwashing detergent and Depend diapers. eBay delay product identifier roll out: Chris Dawson at Tamebay reports that eBay have scrapped the product identifier roll out intended for the 1 September, saying that they’ll delay implementation until 2016. Acrylic Nutella jar lock invented as a joke sells 1,000 units on eBay: Kirstie McCrum from The Mirror reports on a new quirky invention designed as a joke, but is actually selling well on eBay.  German inventor, Daniel Schobloch, floated the idea of an acrylic lock for Nutella, and now they’re selling on Ebay for £7.20. The design is an acrylic frame with a padlock which keeps out little ones and their sticky fingers. Continue reading…
